
James Rooke is general manager of FreeWheel Publishers, a division of FreeWheel, a Comcast Company that provides advertising software and solutions for the entire television ecosystem. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s global business unit that provides the premium video industry with purpose-built software and services to enable programmer and multichannel video programming distributor clients to maximize the value of their advertising inventory across all screens, audiences and sales channels.
Previously, James was chief revenue officer of FreeWheel, where he led global revenue and client services across the advertising technology, advisory services and video marketplace business lines. Before becoming CRO, he was responsible for launching FreeWheel’s video marketplace and managing its global expansion. James first joined in 2012 as vice president of advisory services.
James has more than 15 years of experience in media and entertainment. Prior to joining FreeWheel, he was vice president, strategy and execution for Spectrum Reach. In this position, James partnered with sales, operations, marketing and product to design and roll out strategic initiatives across the business. He also served as head of strategy and transformation for the media and entertainment practice at Capgemini Consulting and as a consultant for Ernst & Young.
James earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Birmingham’s School of Business. He resides in the New York area with his family.
