Neil Smith is general manager of FreeWheel Markets, a division of FreeWheel, a Comcast Company that provides advertising software and solutions for the entire television ecosystem. In this role, Neil leads the global markets organization, which operates a seamless programmatic advertising marketplace exclusively for premium digital and linear video. Through this convergent solution, advertisers can easily access a range of media products to meet their objectives, and premium video publishers can access aggregated demand to meet their unique needs.
Neil joined FreeWheel in 2012 to establish the company’s sales operations function. He was a member of the 2013 launch team for FreeWheel’s FourFronts Premium Marketplace, a business line he helped scale and later led globally. Most recently, Neil led FreeWheel Markets’ digital video business in North America.
Prior to FreeWheel, Neil held several roles at the New York City Department of Small Business Services during Michael Bloomberg’s mayoralty, including director, solutions architecture and strategic operations associate.
Neil holds several degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in systems and information engineering and economics from the University of Virginia, a Master of Engineering from Zaragoza Logistics Center at the Universidad de Zaragoza and a Master of Business Administration from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. In addition, he has a certificate in Master Level Study in logistics and supply chain management from the MIT Global SCALE Network.
Neil resides in the New York area with his family.
